So I haven't written here in a long time. Just to catch up, last week was very busy. I'll just hit the highlights:
Friday my mother came up for the Leadership awards at 3:00pm and then the Outstanding Dinner at 6:00pm. My dad was also with us for both events and then my mentor, Jeff P. was also at the events with us. The Leadership Awards were creative and let us "cut down the nets" for being graduating seniors. It was a great day though and having the dinner with the other Outstanding Seniors was a great time. We were also given medals to wear at Graduation and an Ohio State Alumni license plate cover.
Saturday mom and I got together for lunch and then we just hung out until the SAC banquet at the Blackwell at 6:00pm. I also gave mom her mother's day card and gifts and gave her the card and gift for grandma too! She really liked the flowers but didn't think they'd make the trip back to Cincinnati so they're still here with me.
Sunday and Monday were relatively uneventful. On Sunday, I saw Spiderman 3 with Julie and that was pretty good. Monday Joe and I went house shopping a little in Upper Arlington until I realized that I probably can't afford any of the houses I liked.
Tuesday was a busy day as the 2007 Homecoming Court was announced to those of us who were on the 2006 Homecoming Court. We had to make plans to let the new class know. Sarah M. and I went together to pick up our courters, and we got the two SigEps who are on court next year, Raj N. and Steven E. We then also got Raj's roommate Luis as we thought it would be odd to get one but not the other. We also tried to get Sarah's friend Sia but she wasn't at her apartment.
Wednesday then was also busy as Rich canceled his class and so I got to go to dinner with my best friend Joe and my friends Katie and Nichole. We went to Brazenhead and then met up later that night with Beau and Katie and Nichole's friend Greg.
Thursday, today, was busy as I had an outline for my AED Econ class due on a country I want to write my final paper on. I chose the country of Bulgaria because of its new role as a member of the European Union. We also had homework in my Finance 725 class, which is always interesting because it is International Finance. Then Julie and I watched Grey's Anatomy.
I guess the things that I'm looking forward to doing this weekend are working out by running outside, hopefully playing some golf, and writing e-mails and letters to Boston University and Notre Dame. I am still on their law school's waitlists and I would like to keep all of my options open although, honestly, I wish I was already admitted to all of them so that I could make a decision and know where I'm going to school and living next year.
My longterm goal is to make it over to Europe during my time in law school. Both Ohio State and Boston University have semesters abroad in Oxford, England, and Notre Dame has a year abroad in their Concannon Programme in London, England. I hope to return to England after I graduate law school either directly or a few years down the road to live while I'm relatively young. After England, I would love to live in Paris, Rome, and Frankfurt for a while, taking in all of Europe and gaining experience abroad before settling down back in the US in either Boston, Chicago or DC.
Anyways, this weekend I am taking it off, relaxing, getting some solid work in and preparing for Graduation on June 10th! As it appears right now, I'll be wearing my latin honor cords, my order of omega cords, the Outstanding Senior medallion, and my drab tassel for the business school. It should be a great day! We've also already made breakfast plans at the Blackwell and are in the process of deciding where we'll be going for dinner. I'm also trying to arrange a celebration for Joe and myself and our friends. We'll see how that all comes together shortly!
